Though the deities of Avarath are certainly divine in nature and immortal, they are as much a part of the world as the mortal races are, and as the world shifts during the great cataclysms, the gods are changed and altered as well. Sometimes they simply change roles, while other times their names and personalities can even change, though, in essence, they are still the same being.

The Pantheon described here is that which is connected to the world during the events in 5NE, during the fourth cycle fo history.

Ruhn

The 'All-Father', highest being in all reality.
Ruhn created the Worldbuilders and then the Divines before disappearing. Worship - or even knowledge - of Ruhn is scarce, especially since he has never been known to respond or answer to anyone seeking him.

The Worldbuilders

Also known as the Ancients, the Worldbuilders were the first beings created by Ruhn and were tasked with shaping the realms. Because they unknowingly designed many flaws within reality, they were wiped out (supposedly) by Ruhn before he created the Divines. The Ancients, like Ruhn, are unknown to most mortals and are not worshipped.

The Divines

The Children of Ruhn are the beings commonly referred to as the gods - immortal beings with great powers who are worshipped by mortals of all races. Ruhn placed them in charge of creation when he left, and together they created the mortal races as well as the lesser demigods and racial gods.

Racial Gods

Most of the mortal races have their own unique gods, such as Karabrae, the Elven goddess of the forest, and Pand, the patron god of the animal-like Pandiir. These gods are powerful in their own right, but are a step below the Divines in the hierarchy of deities. It's not known whether all of the racial gods worshipped are truly real or not.

Demigods

Beings of supernatural powers and gods-given immortality, the demigods (or lesser gods) typically take charge of sub-domains and usually serve as servants of the Divines. Demigods were usually extraordinary mortal beings who were granted limited ascendance from one or several gods. Szalitharr - the dracolich who caused the Dark Cataclysm - is an example of a demigod; he was granted ascendance by Bodan, the old god of undeath.

Avatars

On rare occasions, the gods choose mortals to act as a vessel for them, infusing them with a divine spark and granting them god-like powers and knowledge, as well as unnaturally long life. Avatars become living representations of the gods in the mortal realm. When an avatar dies, its divine spark returns to the god it came from, though it's possible for the spark to be consumed by others...

Exarchs

Unlike Avatars, Exarchs are not given a divine spark and are not vessels so much as chosen servants. Exarchs are given tremendous power, but remain mortal, and are tasked with representing their god to others. Before he became a dracolich, Szalitharr was an ancient black dragon. He made a pact to serve Bodan, who made him a dracolich and his Exarch.
