The Demigods

Demigods are beings of immense supernatural power who have a touch of the divine in them.

They are not 'full' gods in the same sense as the divines or racial gods, but they are far from mortal.

The origins of some demigods - such as Anarkun - are not entirely known, though, in order for any being to ascend to lesser godhead, they have to be given a divine spark from an existing deity and granted ascension.

Anarkun

Lord of the Hells, Lawful Evil

The top devil of the hells and absolute ruler of his domain, Anurkun is the embodiment of evil and master of despair. He was given his divine spark from an ancient, evil god, whose name is long forgotten even by him. Anarkun aspires to rule the whole world and establish a devil-lead empire of complete order.

Belar

The Great Stag, Chaotic Good

A mighty stag elk who was given a divine spark by a nature god, Belar is a majestic god-beast who roams the forests of the world as a protector of nature. Belar's footsteps are infused with nature magic, and wherever he walks, plants, grass, flowers, and saplings sprout up, even in the dead of winter, making it easy to tell when he's been around.

Dynaris

Master Bard, Neutral

Once the greatest mortal musician in the world, the high elf Dynaris was given ascendance from Aleanor because of his exceptional abilities and devotion to beauty. The Lord of Song now wanders the world granting inspiration to bards and poets who seek to improve their art. He sometimes takes the form of mortals and performs in inns and taverns for unsuspecting patrons.

Grumbalor

Orc god of war, Chaotic Evil

One of the first orc chieftains, Grumbalor became a demigod with the help of an evil god of chaos whom the chieftain served. He became the patron deity of orcs and the embodiment of chaos, strife, destruction, and of course, war, the favourite pastime of orcs.

Kygaligum

Kobold god of war and wealth, Chaotic Evil

Kygaligum was a greedy and violent demon, even compared to other demons. Granted his divine spark by an evil god, he found a race of creatures as corrupt as he was and made himself their god. Kobolds fear him more than worship him and serve out of cowardice rather than loyalty.

Noukee

Goblin goddess of filth and treachery, Chaotic Evil

A goblin shaman who epitomized the best - or worst - qualities of her race, Noukee served an ancient trickster god who first made her his exarch before making her a demigod. Noukee is called the Mother of all goblinoids, who love and revere her above all else.

Leandra

Archangel (Solar) of Dohmardun, Lawful Good

The most loyal of the god-like celestials and the right hand of Dohmardun, Leandra was granted part of her lord's divine spark as a reward for her unwavering loyalty and dedication to righteousness and justice. Leandra fights for the oppressed and carries out the will of the Good King both in the astral planes and in the realm of mortals. It is said she has waged a personal war against Anarkun and that she once entered the hells to fight the evil god on his own turf.

Hypereda

Queen of Souls, Neutral

Hypereda was once a priestess of Bodan, the old god of death who eventually turned evil and made Szalitharr a god. Bodan gave Hypereda a divine spark and charged her with the care of all the departed souls. When the god turned evil and took on undeath as his domain, Hypereda turned against him with the help of Solas, the old god of light. Hypereda now opposes Torgammal for control of the afterlife.

Protheros

The Demon Prince, Chaotic Evil

Demons are chaotic and unruly by nature, so it's surprising that any of them could be organized enough to take over the Abyss, but that's exactly what Protheros did. He was given ascendance after swearing fealty to Grymorgan, the goddess of treachery, who gave him greater power than any other demon, though his rule has not gone uncontested.

Rohgir

The Wandering Wizard, Chaotic Neutral

Rohgir's story is unique in that his ascendance was found, not granted, like the other demigods. He was an archwizard in service to Druithis, the ancient goddess of magic, yet he always aspired to become greater than he was. Rumour has it he found an untethered divine spark of Druithis's floating in the ether and claimed it for his own. His newfound power made him insane, however, and now he forever roams the world as a nomadic demigod.
